Design Challenge
The Grainger brand is known the world over. However, when the U.S. based company exhibited in international trade shows, its displays did not reflect that strong standing; visually, they were not up to the level of what is seen outside the U.S. Grainger needed a vendor that understood the international market and had the creative vision, plus the manufacturing muscle, to create a new portable display that would help them stand out—whether at a show in the Middle East, Latin America or Asia. Also, the vendor needed to have worldwide resources for storing Grainger exhibits closer to show sites.
Design Solution
Nimlok Chicago created a new, cutting-edge exhibit that Grainger could use to fit different shell schemes for 10 and 12 square-meter spaces. The lightweight, easy-to-assemble extrusion with multiple configurations incorporates new booth graphics and a product display case, among other features. Three identical exhibits were created: two in English and one in Spanish. Nimlok Chicago also designed a low-cost, "build and burn" display for single use when testing a new show or market. For the second part of the solution, Nimlok Chicago worked in conjunction with its international partners to arrange year-round storage in Peru, Singapore and Dubai. For each upcoming event, Nimlok Chicago partners coordinate shipping of whatever exhibit is closest to the show site. They also set-up and teardown the exhibit at the show and oversee return shipping.
